Challenge

  • Quantitative HR (QHR), Australia’s leading Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) consultancy firm, helps its clients make smarter workforce decisions; by sharing market insights, predictions, and modelling on client’s future workforce requirements

  • QHR identified an opportunity to pivot their business model, by evolving their existing consulting practice into a SaaS based application offering

  • They wanted to bring a data rich portal to the market which would complement, and over time replace, their existing service offering

  • Their existing manual, Excel-based solution was time consuming, and difficult to overlay external information against a client’s data, so showing benefits to customers was difficult

  • The complexity of existing modelling impacted their clients’ ability to utilise the insights gained on an ongoing basis, and the consulting heavy process was a barrier to onboarding customers at scale

  • QHR sought to create rich, intuitive user experience, empowering customers to model different scenarios and utilise the tool to make more informed workforce decisions

Approach

  • Through a highly collaborative approach, a cloud-based application was developed, that provides organisations with a guided implementation of their client’s Strategic Workforce Planning process

  • Solentive and QHR designed and developed new architecture, algorithms and logic, that would enable users to load employee workforce data used by the system to calculate the current workforce supply, predict future demand, and perform gap analysis

  • The new application was designed to utilise principles of decision sciences, predictive analytics, and talent management, to build models for organisations to optimise workforce readiness and composition
