Accenture re-developed its web capabilities for sales and marketing in the Asia Pacific region.
By improving site functionality and performance, the changes ensure that senior consultants always have the right tools to perform the task at hand.
Project objective: improving sales and marketing support
Accenture had identified performance gaps in its ‘Sales Effectiveness Website’, an intranet portal developed by a large international technology company. The website was primarily utilised by senior consultants to support sales and marketing activities.
Accenture was looking for a technology partner with the experience and expertise to deliver high-performance software (on time and within budget) without the excessive overhead of a large international supplier.
After evaluating several software vendors, Accenture selected Solentive as their preferred technology partner.
Phase one: feature-rich solution
Completing the initial project in three months, Solentive addressed a range of performance issues, including the retrofitting of a feature-set that was estimated to have increased functionality by more than 40%. Additional features included advanced user reporting, a promotional window and multilanguage instructional text (in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese).
Phase two: portal development
Capitalising on this success, Accenture commissioned Solentive to transform the intranet website into a full portal. Using information architecture principles, Solentive completely redesigned the site, with a new look and feel that was developed to facilitate high useability and accessibility.
Navigational controls were added in order to cater to expanded content, and taxonomy was implemented to give users a sense of place within the modified information architecture. Solentive integrated the solution with an associated content management system to provide role-based publishing.
Developed in two months, the portal was launched as the “Winning in Asia-Pacific Portal (WIAPP)”.
